*CARTER IS NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS!*

Carter Knapp is a Temp.-Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Iowa. She attended the University of Northern Iowa for her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with minors in Mental Health and Criminology.

She is passionate about creating a space where people feel safe to slow down, reflect, and connect with their inner world. She believes that healing happens in relationship—when we feel truly seen and understood—and that therapy is less about “fixing” and more about discovering new ways of being with ourselves and others.

Her approach is rooted in curiosity and compassion, drawing from psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and DBT. She works with teens, adults, and couples, always tailoring therapy to each person’s unique needs. Whether someone is going through a life transition, working through relationship challenges, or feeling stuck and overwhelmed, she walks alongside them with care and support. Her hope is to help clients build self-understanding, strengthen their relationships, and feel more grounded and connected in their everyday lives.

Outside of her work, Carter can often be found walking with her dog, trying out new restaurants, or soaking up the energy of a live music show.
